The Coastal Institute /BCI is an organization allied to the conservation of the Cabo Pulmo National Park.
- It develops and publishes scientific research documents on critical issues for the region, such as the issue of water.
- Support for scientists and postgraduate students who carry out studies related to the care and preservation of our coastal systems.
- Communicates scientific information for the sustainable development of the region through communication campaigns on social networks, forums and webinars.
- Collaborates in the maintenance of the Environmental Education Campus in Cabo Pulmo and holds events, conferences and workshops that promote the conservation of coastal ecosystems and South Californian culture (Learning Center, Visitor Center and Amphitheater).
- Coordinates the Education for Action program that encourages students and teachers to generate sustainable projects, through workshops, educational material, tools and experiences for the conservation of their natural environment.
- Develop platforms with educational resources to create a network of educators and students collaborating for the conservation of the region.
- Research on sharks and other trophic predators in the National Park and nearby areas of Cabo del Este.
- Generation of technical information for the conservation and management of sharks and manta rays within the Park.
